Excursion to Yarinacocha and Pacacocha Lakes

Yarinacocha and Pacacocha are among the most significant lagoons in the Ucayali region of the Amazon. The banks of these lagoons are home to a wealth of exotic wildlife, such as jaguars, sloths, and anacondas, as well as Indigenous communities that maintain their rich traditions.

Our journey will commence at 9 am with a pickup from your hotel, after which we will head to Yarinacocha, located just 2 kilometers from Pucallpa. Our first stop will be to visit the ancient giant known as La Lupuna, a remarkable tree over 200 years old, standing nearly 70 meters tall. Throughout our visit, we’ll share insights about its significance to the local community and its ecological role.

Next, we will explore a sugar cane mill to learn how these exquisite liquors are produced, and you will have the opportunity to sample them! Afterwards, a leisurely stroll along the shores of Lake Yarinacocha will allow us to observe the diverse flora that thrives in this area.

Continuing our adventure, we'll navigate through the jungle to experience its lush vegetation, followed by a memorable boat journey to the Pacacocha lagoon. While we sail, we will take note of the rich variety of wildlife along its banks, culminating in a visit to a wildlife lodge.

As we proceed along the river, we will reach Puerto Callao in Yarinacocha, where we will tour the Maratíshobo handicraft center to appreciate the traditional crafts of the local Indigenous artisans. Our excursion will conclude with our return to Pucallpa, where we expect to arrive by 1 pm.
