Yarinacocha & Pacacocha Lakes Excursion
Yarinacocha and Pacacocha are two significant lagoons in the Amazon region of Ucayali, home to exotic animals such as jaguars, sloths, and anacondas, as well as Indigenous communities that maintain their traditions.
The adventure starts at 9 am with a hotel pickup. We will travel to Yarinacocha, located 2 kilometers from Pucallpa, to see La Lupuna, a 200-year-old tree that is nearly 70 meters tall. We will discuss its ecological importance.
Next, we will visit a sugar cane mill to learn about the production of local liquors, with tastings included. A walk along the shores of Lake Yarinacocha will allow us to observe diverse tree and plant species.
Afterward, we will explore the jungle's vegetation, followed by a boat ride to Pacacocha lagoon. We will focus on the rich animal diversity along its shores before stopping at a wildlife lodge.
Continuing, we will arrive at Puerto Callao in Yarinacocha to visit the Maratíshobo handicraft center, showcasing local Indigenous handicrafts. The tour concludes with a return to Pucallpa, expected around 1 pm.
