Excursion to Yarinacocha and Pacacocha Lakes

Yarinacocha and Pacacocha are among the key lagoons within the Ucayali region of the Amazon. These stunning waterways are home not only to exotic wildlife such as jaguars, sloths, and anacondas but also to Indigenous communities that maintain their rich cultural traditions.

Our journey commences at 9 am with a pickup from your hotel, followed by a short drive to Yarinacocha, located just 2 kilometers from Pucallpa. We'll make our first stop to visit La Lupuna, a monumental tree over 200 years old that towers nearly 70 meters high. During our visit, you will learn about its significant role in the local environment and its historical importance.

Next, our adventure takes us to a local sugar cane mill, where you'll gain insight into the production of delightful liquors, complete with a tasting experience. From there, a leisurely stroll along the shoreline of Lake Yarinacocha allows us to appreciate the diverse array of trees and plant life.

Afterward, we'll embark on a jungle trek to immerse ourselves in the rich vegetation, followed by a scenic boat ride across Pacacocha lagoon. As we glide through these pristine waters, we'll take note of the remarkable wildlife along the banks, leading us to a wildlife lodge for further exploration.

Following the river's path, we will reach Puerto Callao in Yarinacocha. Here, you'll have the opportunity to visit the Maratíshobo handicraft center, where you can admire the traditional arts and crafts made by the local Indigenous artisans. Our tour wraps up with a return journey to Pucallpa, arriving around 1 pm.
