Pickup from your hotel is at 8:30 am, heading to the center of Yogyakarta to visit the Sultan's Palace and the Water Castle. Afterward, leave Yogyakarta for Kotagede, a half-hour drive to the ancient Javanese village.

Explore the village streets via becak. Visit the market, a batik and silver factory, the Royal Cemetery, and the ancient Mosque, significant to the Kingdom of Mataram Islam, which had Kotagede as its capital.
