Surakarta and Hindu Temples Private Tour
After being picked up from your hotel, you will be driven to Surakarta, approximately two hours from Yogyakarta. You will visit the Radya Pustaka Museum, the second oldest museum in Indonesia, featuring an impressive collection of 'Wayang' puppets. Next, explore local markets to find exceptional Batik textiles.
Your tour continues at the nearby Mangkunegaran Palace, one of the best-preserved royal palaces in the city, built in 1757 and still home to the royal family’s descendants.
You will then have free time to eat, followed by visits to two significant temples. First, visit the Javanese-Hindu Candi Cetho, a 15th-century temple complex situated almost 5000 feet (1500 m) above sea level. Next, explore the Sukuh Temple, known for its erotic reliefs and symbols of fertility.
After a full day of culture and history, you will be dropped off back in Yogyakarta.
