Surakarta and Hindu Temples Private Tour
After being picked up from your hotel, you'll be driven to Surakarta, approximately two hours from Yogyakarta. The tour includes a visit to the Radya Pustaka Museum, recognized as the second oldest museum in Indonesia, where you can see an impressive collection of 'Wayang' puppets. Next, explore the local markets in Solo, known for its stunning Batik textiles.
Visit the Mangkunegaran Palace, an architectural highlight and the best-preserved royal palace in the city, built in 1757 and still inhabited by descendants of Java's royal family.
After some free time for lunch, you will visit two significant temples. The first is the Candi Cetho, a 15th-century Javanese-Hindu temple complex situated near Mount Lawu at an elevation of nearly 5000 feet (1500 m). Then, explore the Sukuh Temple, known for its unique erotic reliefs and fertility symbols, also constructed around the same period.
You will be returned to Yogyakarta at the end of the tour.
