Your self-guided tour allows you to explore the house and gardens or just the gardens. Inside the 300-year-old Palladian house, you'll have access to several rooms and grand halls. The gardens feature common trees like oak and chestnut, and unique elements such as the Temple of the Four Winds and the Mausoleum.

While on the estate, you'll also have access to the Skelfe Adventure Playground, shops, and cafés. It is recommended to spend between 3 and 4 hours at Castle Howard.

Opening Times

Castle Howard is open every day of the week from 10 am to 5 pm. Last entry is at 3 pm. Castle Howard will not be open on July 19, 20 & 21 and October 5 in 2024.
