North York Moors Park & Whitby Day Trip

We'll meet opposite the Dean Court Hotel at the specified time in York and begin our day trip with a scenic drive through the Vale of York.

Our first stop will be Kilburn White Horse Hill to learn about the figure carved into the hillside in the mid 19th century. Next, we’ll go to Helmsley to see the medieval castle and explore the village.

The tour will continue into the North York Moors National Park, passing through Hutton-le-Hole, Blakey Ridge, the highest point on the Moors, and Ralph's Cross. Following on, we'll make our way to Lealholm.

We’ll then head to Whitby while receiving explanations about the town's history. Upon arrival, we'll stop at the Captain Cook statue and Whalebone arch. You can choose to be dropped off at the harbour or the abbey, and you’ll have 3 hours to explore Whitby and its attractions, including the Endeavour Experience, Captain Cook Museum, and Bark Endeavour. Don't miss sampling fish and chips at the famous Magpie Café.

Afterwards, we’ll visit Goathland, learning about the fictional locations of 'Hogsmead' from Harry Potter and 'Aidensfield' from Heartbeat.

The tour will then proceed to Hole of Horcum, before returning to York, arriving after 8 hours.
