Join us on this tour of the Witches of York, to discover the darker side of this beautiful walled city. Chilling stories, ancient legends and scary secrets await you!

At the scheduled time we'll meet beside the Whip-Ma-Whop-Ma-Gate sign, the shortest street in York with the longest name. From there we'll begin our tour of the witches.

We'll start this tour by visiting Shambles, leading us to the Minister Quarter, Petergate, and Stonegate. A real witch will provide insights on the legends surrounding the witches in this city.

First, we'll learn about the history of the real witches of Yorkshire and the injustices they faced. We'll continue walking through the cobblestone streets of York at sunset while learning about Mary Bateman.

We'll then visit the church of St Crux, the largest medieval church in York, before walking to King's Square and Bookbinders Alley, where we'll hear the story of a magic tree connected to a witch.

The next stop will be in the oldest neighbourhood in York, the Minister Quarter, stopping in front of a pub linked to a famous conspirator. We'll explore Petergate for more stories and conclude in front of York Minster.

Before finishing our tour, we'll walk through Stonegate for additional facts and return to Shambles to conclude the tour.
