York Pass

The York Pass sightseeing card provides free access to over 40 attractions in York, including ancient castle ruins, the aquarium, and York Minster.

The York Pass also grants free access to York Mansion House, Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience, or Fairfax House, plus discounts at selected shops and restaurants. Some attractions require pre-booking.

How does it work?

The York Pass is valid from its first use at an attraction, for a selected duration of 1, 2, or 3 days. The first day concludes at 11:59 pm, regardless of the start time. Passes must be used on consecutive days and provide one-time free access per attraction.

Collecting your York Pass

Collect the York Pass from the Visit York Information Centre, located at 1 Museum Street, York. The center operates daily from 9 am to 5 pm, and from 10 am to 4 pm on Sundays. Although a specific purchase date is required, the pass can be collected any day and is valid from first use.

Children under 5 years old

Children's York Passes are available for children between 5 and 16 years old. Most attractions offer free entry for children under 5. It's advisable to check individual attraction websites for details.
