Yorkshire Dales National Park Day Trip

We'll meet in Duncombe Place at the indicated time in York and set off westbound to Yorkshire Dales National Park.

Our first stop will be Bolton Castle, Wensleydale's notable landmark. Here you'll learn about the area's history and enjoy a traditional Yorkshire tea.

On the way to our next stop, we'll drive through Askrigg, the fictional village of Darrowby from James Herriot's All Creatures Great and Small series.

The tour continues to Hawes, where we will spend one hour and thirty minutes. You can visit the Wensleydale Creamery Visitor Centre for cheese samples, explore The Dales Countryside Museum, and browse local shops. After Hawes, we'll head into Yorkshire Dales National Park, stopping in charming villages along the River Wharfe for photos.

We'll stop at Kettlewell, a filming location for the Calendar Girls movie, to explore or enjoy a drink. Then, we proceed through Kilnsey Crag, Grassington, and Nidderdale.

Our final stop will be Pateley Bridge, where you can visit the Guinness World Record's 'Oldest Sweet Shop in the World.'

We'll return to York after an 8-hour trip.
