On this excursion through Yorkshire Dales National Park, participants will explore landscapes that inspired English writers.
Description
At the scheduled time, we'll meet at Duncombe Place in York, where we'll board our minibus to Yorkshire Dales National Park.
The first stop will be at the village of Masham, where we'll stroll through historic streets and see the Anglo-Saxon cross, over 1300 years old.
Next, we will visit Grassington, known as Darrowby in 'All Creatures Great and Small'. Participants will have an hour of free time to explore or dine at a local café. We will later head to Linton Falls, notable for its beauty.
Afterwards, we'll travel along the River Wharfe, passing through the village of Burnsall to see the ruins of Barden Tower.
Next, we will arrive at Bolton Abbey, a 12th-century abbey with ruins of the Augustinian Priory of Bolton, where participants will learn about its history.
Finally, we will return to the meeting point to conclude the trip after 8 hours.
