Walking Tour of Stone Town & Boat Ride to Prison Island

You will be picked up from your hotel in Zanzibar at the scheduled time, followed by a visit to Stone Town, the historic center of the island's capital, to start the guided walking tour.

The tour includes a walk through the streets of Stone Town where the history and architecture of key sites will be explained. Notable buildings include the House of Wonders, which houses the Museum of History and Culture of Zanzibar and the Swahili Coast, the Palace Museum, the Old Fort, and the Anglican Cathedral, where a monument to the slaves will be visited.

After the walking tour, you will head to the port for a 20-minute boat ride to Prison Island. Once a prison for rebellious slaves and later a quarantine station, the island is now a tourist destination featuring a population of endangered giant tortoises.

The tour concludes with a return to Stone Town and transfer back to your hotel, lasting a total of 6 hours.
