Tumbatu Island Day Trip

On this day trip to the spectacular paradise island of Tumbatu from Zanzibar, we will meet the local population, visit its ruins, and snorkel in its sparkling blue waters.

Day Trip Details

We'll pick you up at your hotel in Zanzibar at the indicated time and head to the nearest pier on the island. There, we'll board a boat that will take us to the island of Tumbatu.

While sailing, we'll enjoy the scenery of the third-largest island of the Zanzibar archipelago. Upon arrival, we'll learn about the lifestyle of the people of Tumbatu, whose only source of energy is solar panels, and explore their customs.

Next, we'll explore the ruins of the island, featuring Shirazi constructions and ancient baobab trees that are more than 900 years old.

After the exploration, we'll visit a local restaurant to enjoy a traditional meal of seafood, vegetables, and rice. Afterward, we'll head to the beach for an hour of snorkeling among stunning corals and vibrant fish in the blue waters.

We'll return to your hotel in Zanzibar, arriving approximately 8 hours later.
