Tumbatu Island Day Trip

On this day trip to the island of Tumbatu from Zanzibar, we'll meet the local population, visit ruins, and snorkel in its waters.

Day Trip Details

We'll pick you up at your hotel in Zanzibar at the indicated time and head to the nearest pier. There, we'll board a boat that will take us to Tumbatu. During the sailing, we will enjoy the scenery of the third-largest island in the Zanzibar archipelago. Upon arrival, we will learn about the local lifestyle, including their use of solar panels as the only energy source, along with their ancestral customs.

We will explore the ruins of the island, including Shirazi constructions and baobab trees over 900 years old.

After the tour, we will visit a local restaurant for a traditional meal consisting of seafood, vegetables, and rice. Once refreshed, we will return to the beach for an hour of snorkeling among corals and colorful fish. Finally, we will return to your hotel in Zanzibar, arriving approximately 8 hours later.
