This journey begins at Zermatt Railway Station. Exchange your voucher at one of the station's ticket offices or machines for access to magnificent views of the Swiss Alps!

The Gornergrat reaches a height of 3,100 metres (10,170 feet), traveling over bridges, through tunnels, across lakes, and into forests. As the train approaches its highest point, you will see the pyramid-shaped Matterhorn and the Gorner Glacier, Mount Liksamm, the twin Castor and Pollux summits, as well as the Monte Rosa massif.

At The Gornergrat's peak, enjoy the Alps at your leisure. Take pictures, hike, or visit the Gornergrat Hotel terrace viewpoint. There is no precise return time indicated on the train ticket, allowing you to head back to Zermatt at your convenience on the same day. Please refer to the train's schedule.

Schedule

The first Gornergrat train leaves Zermatt Station at 7 am. Departures occur every 24 to 48 minutes. The last return train from Gornergrat to Zermatt is at 7:22 pm from July to August, and at 5:52 pm from September to June. These times are subject to change based on the season and weather.
