Description

This journey begins at Zermatt Railway Station. Exchange your voucher at one of the station's ticket offices or machines. The train ascends to 3,100 metres (10,170 feet) traveling over bridges, through tunnels, across lakes, and through forests. You will see the pyramid-shaped Matterhorn among other peaks such as the Gorner Glacier, Mount Liksamm, and the Monte Rosa massif.

At The Gornergrat's peak, enjoy the scenery. You can take pictures, hike, or visit the Gornergrat Hotel terrace viewpoint. Return to Zermatt at your convenience on the same day. Please refer to the train's schedule.

Schedule

The first Gornergrat train leaves Zermatt Station at 7 am. Subsequent departures are every 24 to 48 minutes. The last return train from Gornergrat to Zermatt is at 7:22 pm in July and August, and at 5:52 pm from September to June.
