This journey begins at Zermatt Railway Station. Exchange your voucher at one of the station's ticket offices or machines to prepare for magnificent views of the Swiss Alps!

The Gornergrat ascends to a height of 3,100 metres (10,170 feet), traveling over bridges, through tunnels, across lakes, and into breathtaking forests. The train's highest point provides views of the pyramid-shaped Matterhorn, and the Gorner Glacier, alongside Mount Liksamm, the twin Castor and Pollux summits, and the Monte Rosa massif.

At The Gornergrat's peak, you can take pictures, hike, or visit the Gornergrat Hotel terrace viewpoint. You may return to Zermatt at your convenience on the same day, adhering to the train's schedule.

Schedule

The first Gornergrat train departs Zermatt Station at 7 am, with subsequent departures every 24 to 48 minutes. The last return train from Gornergrat to Zermatt is at 7:22 pm during July and August, and at 5:52 pm from September to June.
