Soledad de Maciel & Xihuacan Day Trip

At 9 am we'll pick you up from your hotel in Ixtapa Zihuatanejo and head to Xihuacan, an archaeological site full of history and culture.

Upon arrival, we will visit the Xihuacan Museum, featuring over 800 artefacts, some dating back 3,500 years, including necklaces, pots, axes, and a glyph. We will also see a ball game made of baked clay and one of the pyramidal bases of the ceremonial center, where agricultural and religious rituals took place.

Next, we will travel to La Soledad de Maciel, a rural village built on the ruins of Xihuacan. Here, we will view a low relief stele called 'King of La Chole' next to the church and visit a local house showcasing a collection of pre-Hispanic art discovered over 30 years in the area.

We will then proceed to Barra de Potosí Beach for a traditional local lunch, offering a choice of shrimp, fajitas, fish or meat dishes with rice, salad, and handmade tortillas.

After lunch, we will return to Ixtapa Zihuatanejo, arriving back at your hotel by 2:45 pm.
