At 4 am, pickup will be from your hotel in San Cristóbal de las Casas for a tour to discover the Sima de las Cotorras and El Aguacero Waterfall in Chiapas. After a two and a half hour drive, arrival at Sima de las Cotorras, a 140-meter deep karst chasm, will follow. You'll enter the viewpoint and walk around part of the perimeter, observing cave paintings, trees up to 30 meters high, and unique tropical species. Watch for the parrots known for their circular flight pattern.
Next, we'll head to El Ocote Biosphere Reserve for a short jungle hike, including a descent of 740 steps with views of the La Venta River and surrounding caves. At the bottom, you'll access the El Aguacero Waterfall, a 75-meter high waterfall in a rocky canyon, where you can enjoy a refreshing dip.
Afterwards, we will return, making a stop in Tuxtla Gutierrez for lunch, and finally drop you off at your hotel in San Cristóbal de las Casas between 5 pm and 6 pm.
