Enjoy a boat ride through the Sumidero Canyon, located 45 minutes from San Cristobal de las Casas, and a visit to the colonial town of Chiapa de Corzo.

Sumidero Canyon + Chiapa de Corzo Tour

Following hotel pickup in San Cristobal de las Casas, we will travel west to the Sumidero Canyon. Upon arrival, a two-hour boat ride will take you through this natural wonder, with canyon walls reaching 4,000 meters high (13,123 feet) alongside diverse vegetation and wildlife including pelicans, spider monkeys, and crocodiles. The tour features one of the largest rivers in Mexico as a backdrop.

After the boat ride, we will proceed to Chiapa de Corzo, a colonial town rich in tradition and culture. You will have free time to explore its streets, squares, chapels, and the ruins of colonial temples.

Be sure to visit the Pila, the city’s central fountain, which is an example of Mudejar style integral to Spanish-American colonial art.

The excursion concludes at approximately 3 pm with our return to the center of San Cristobal de las Casas.
