Bern Day Trip

On our Bern Day Trip from Zürich, we will visit the historic centre of the Swiss capital, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and learn about Emmental cheese.

We will depart at 8:30 am from the Sihlquai bus station parking lot in Zürich and travel to the Entlebuch Valley, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Upon arrival, each participant will receive a bag to collect Swiss products throughout the day.

Our journey will include crossing the Emmental Valley and visiting the Kambly Experience, a traditional Swiss biscuit factory where we will learn about the production of these treats and sample them. After the tasting, we will proceed to Bern.

In Bern, we will embark on a walking tour of the historic centre, visiting key monuments such as the Berner Münster Cathedral, the Swiss Parliament, and the Zytglogge tower with its astronomical clock.

Participants will have approximately 1 hour of free time for lunch and shopping. In the afternoon, we will visit a typical Bernese farmhouse and see local Swiss cows before touring an Emmental cheese dairy. An interactive tour, 'King's Way', will follow, and we will make a brief stop for photos of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau mountains.

The day trip will conclude with our return to Zürich, arriving back at 7 pm.
