Details of the Day Trip

The adventure begins at the scheduled time as we gather at the parking area of Sihlquai bus station. From this central point in Zurich, we will head towards the picturesque Canton of Bern, nestled in inland Switzerland.

Our first destination will be Interlaken, a delightful town set between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz. Here, we will take a brief pause for photographs before continuing our journey by bus to Grindelwald, recognized for its enchanting vistas within the Bernese Alps.

Upon reaching this idyllic village, we will provide you with train tickets, allowing for a self-guided return to Interlaken later in the afternoon. Additionally, you will receive cable car tickets to Mount First, where you can relish 3 hours of leisure at the top of this remarkable 2100-metre-high (6,889 ft) summit.

Your cable car pass also grants you access to both the First View observation platform and the Cliff Walk by Tissot suspension bridge. This 40-metre-long (131 ft) pathway presents astonishing views of the surrounding Alpine peaks, creating an unforgettable experience!

While at Mount First, refreshments are available, and a range of activities can be enjoyed at your leisure. Ensure to return via the cable car to Grindelwald in a timely manner, allowing you to explore this quaint alpine locale further.

At the designated time on your ticket, you will take the train from Grindelwald to Interlaken. Our bus will await you at the station to escort you back to the meeting point in Zurich, culminating this 12-hour excursion.

Your tickets include access to the Cliff Walk by Tissot suspension bridge and the First View observation deck. Moreover, a variety of additional activities can be enjoyed at Mount First at your convenience:

Information About the Guide

It's important to note that this excursion includes partial guidance. The tour guide will accompany you during the bus journey from Zurich to Grindelwald as well as on the ride back from Interlaken to Zurich.

During your free time at Grindelwald and Mount First, as well as on the train ride from Grindelwald to Interlaken, a guide will not be present. However, comprehensive details will be provided to enhance your independent exploration.

Potential Changes to the Itinerary

There may be some adjustments to the itinerary, which could include a reverse order of visits, starting with Lauterbrunnen, followed by Grindelwald (including Mount First), with Interlaken in the latter part of the day.

Important: effective from April 1, 2026, a guide will accompany travelers for the entire duration of the trip. Additionally, the train journey from Grindelwald to Interlaken will be substituted with a tour of Lauterbrunnen.
