Climb the Queen of the Mountains and visit one of the most beautiful cities in Switzerland on our Lucerne & Mount Rigi Day Trip. We'll combine history and breathtaking scenery on this unmissable experience.

Lucerne & Mount Rigi Day Trip

At 9:30 am, we'll meet at Sihlquai Bus Station. We'll board a bus from Zürich to Weggis, enjoying views of Lake Lucerne.

From the lake, we'll see Mount Rigi, an alpine massif at 5,900 feet (1,800 meters). You'll have 4 hours of free time, with included cable car and rack railway tickets to reach the summit, accessible since 1871. At the top, enjoy views of Central Switzerland's lakes and dine at various mountain restaurants.

We will descend on another rack railway to Vitznau and then take a 4-hour boat ride on Lake Lucerne, where you can appreciate scenic views of the Alpine mountains.

The boat will end in Lucerne, providing free time to explore its historic center, including the Baroque Jesuit church, the Town Hall, and the Chapel Bridge, from the 14th century.

We'll return to the bus and conclude the trip at 7 pm back at the starting point.

Changes to the itinerary

The itinerary may change due to maintenance or events. The cable car on Mount Rigi may close, resulting in a replacement with the cog railway on the following dates:

March 10 to April 4, 2025.November 17 to November 21, 2025.November 24 to November 28, 2025.

Guides on the tour

This tour is partially guided. A guide will accompany you from Zurich to Lucerne and return. During your time in Lucerne, there will be no guide, but information will be provided for your independent exploration.
