Lucerne & Mount Rigi Day Trip

At the indicated time, we'll meet at Sihlquai Bus Station parking lot. We'll travel from Zürich to the town of Weggis, enjoying views of Lake Lucerne.

You'll see Mount Rigi, an Alpine massif at 5,900 feet (1,800 meters) high. There will be 4 hours of free time, including cable car and rack railway tickets to the summit. This mountain railway began operations in 1871.

Upon reaching Mount Rigi, you will witness views of Central Switzerland's lakes, with options for dining at mountain restaurants.

We will descend via another rack railway train to Vitznau, where you'll board a boat for a 4-hour ride on Lake Lucerne, with views of Alpine mountains.

The boat will finish in Lucerne, allowing time to explore its historic center, notable for the Baroque Jesuit church, Town Hall, and the Chapel Bridge from the 14th century.

Afterward, we'll return by bus, completing the 9.5-hour trip back at the starting point.

Changes to the Itinerary

Itinerary changes may occur due to maintenance or events. The cable car on Mount Rigi may be replaced by the cog railway on:

This tour is partially guided. The guide will accompany you from Zurich to Lucerne, and from Lucerne to Zurich. No guide will be present during your time in Lucerne, but you will receive information to explore at your own pace.
