Day Trip to the Arctic Coast

  • 6 heures

Want to see Iceland's famous black sand beaches and visit the villages of Siglufjörður and Hauganés? Join us on this day trip to the Arctic coast and Tröllaskagi peninsula. We'll enjoy incredible scenery and learn about the history of the fishing villages in the north of the country.

Day Trip to the Arctic Coast

At the appointed time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Akureyri and, aboard a 4x4 vehicle, drive towards the Tröllaskagi peninsula. We will experience the Arctic coastline, the Eyjafjörður fjord, rivers, and valleys.

We will explain how the landscape was shaped during the Ice Age while passing through villages like Ólafsfjörður and Dalvík. A stop will be made at a black sand beach.

The excursion will lead us to Siglufjörður, known for the TV series 'Trapped'. This village is recognized for its wooden houses and history related to herring fishing.

Next, we'll visit Hauganés, characterized by its small houses and local population. We'll take you to a black sand bay where you can enjoy a dip in the hot tubs heated by geothermal energy.

Before returning to Akureyri, we'll have lunch at a restaurant in Hauganés. After six hours of exploration, we will drop you off back at your hotel.
