Want to see Iceland's famous black sand beaches and visit the villages of Siglufjörður and Hauganés? Join us on this day trip to the Arctic coast and Tröllaskagi peninsula. We'll enjoy incredible scenery and learn about the history of the fishing villages in the north of the country.

Day Trip to the Arctic Coast

At the appointed time we'll pick you up at your hotel in Akureyri and, aboard a 4x4 vehicle, we'll drive towards the Tröllaskagi peninsula. Experience the breathtaking Arctic coastline, the Eyjafjörður fjord, rivers, and valleys.

We'll explain how this landscape was shaped during the Ice Age while we pass through villages like Ólafsfjörður and Dalvík, and we'll stop at a unique black sand beach.

The excursion will take us to Siglufjörður, where the TV series 'Trapped' was filmed, noted for its wooden houses and history linked to herring fishing. We'll discuss the area's golden age.

After visiting Siglufjörður, we'll head to Hauganés, characterized by small houses and a sparse local population. We'll visit a black sand bay with hot tubs heated by geothermal energy.

Before returning to Akureyri, we'll enjoy a lunch at a restaurant in Hauganés. After six hours, we'll finish the tour and drop you off at your hotel.
