Rupe Trail Hike

At the scheduled time, we'll meet at Piazzale Campo della Fiera in Borgo Maggiore to begin our journey through a scenic area of San Marino. Our hike will follow the winding Rupe Trail, an alternate route from the main city entrance to the Third Tower, "Il Montale," and the Second Tower, known as "Cesta" or "Fratta." You will explore the unique aspects of the oldest independent republic in the world.

The trail winds along the slopes of Mount Titano among leafy trees and lush greenery, including the rare and ancient ephedra nebrodense. You will encounter imposing rock faces, creating a unique ambiance. Some sections of the trail may require more effort but will be rewarding.

This UNESCO-protected area features ideal climbing spots and green terraces with views over the Adriatic Sea. You will also see the secluded Tanaccia Sanctuary and an archaeological site of significant historical and cultural value. This area remains one of the habitats for the peregrine falcon, which has nested here for centuries, under the guidance of our knowledgeable mentor, who will share fascinating insights. The hiking tour will last approximately 3 hours.
