On this private tour of Caltagirone, we'll explore this Sicilian city known for its ceramics and Baroque and Art Nouveau monuments.

Description

We'll meet at the designated time at the entrance of Caltagirone's Public Garden, one of the ten most captivating gardens in Italy, featuring Art Nouveau elements, an Arab-style stage, and the Belvedere Theater.

We will pass the Museo della Ceramica and proceed along the main street to the historic heart of Caltagirone, where the Tondo Vecchio, an 18th-century monument, is located.

The tour continues across the San Francesco Bridge, notable for its five arches and local ceramic vases, built in the 17th century to connect two hills.

We will admire the Baroque and Art Nouveau churches and palaces, culminating at the Cathedral of San Giuliano, featuring a 48-meter bell tower and a majolica dome, along with frescoes and Baroque wooden decorations.

Nearby is Piazza del Municipio, surrounded by structures like the Palazzo dell'Aquila and the Palazzo Senatorio, home to the Luigi Sturzo Gallery.

Our final stop is the Santa Maria del Monte staircase, a 17th-century structure linking the historic center to the modern city, adorned with colorful tiles, especially vibrant during events like the Infiorata and the Patron Saint festival.

The tour concludes here, approximately 2 hours after starting.
