Along the route by bus our guide will show you the history of Etna, the highest active volcano in Europe named UNESCO World Heritage since 2013. You' ll reach 1900 mt and learn about fauna and flora growing on the magic ground of volcano. Free time for a walk on Crateri Silvestri, dead craters born during the eruption of 1842. You can continue the tour (not included in the price) with a volcanologist taking the cable car and the jeep reaching the main crater at 3000 mt (Optional tour). Departure from Rifugio Sapienza scheduled around 13:00. On the way to Taormina you will stop in Zafferan Etnea to experience the typical honey.

In the early afternoon you will visit Taormina, the pearl of the Mediterranean sea, the most famous Sicilian village; a marvelous town built sheer above a cliff, today one of the most popular tourist centers in eastern Sicily. Located on a hill 206 meters high Taormina became temporarily the capital of the Byzantine Sicilian province, before being the last Sicilian city to fall into the hands of the Arabs in 902 AD suspended between rocks and sea in a set of natural beauty.

After our guided tour along the splendid main street of the city, with its medieval cathedral and its castles, you will have some free time to lose yourself in its magnificent atmosphere, to do shopping or visit the Greek Theatre.
