Loch Ness & the Scottish Highlands: 2 Day Tour Itinerary

On the morning of your tour, you'll be picked up from the meeting point in Edinburgh. The first stop is Luss, a conservation village on the banks of Loch Lomond.

Your route takes you alongside the loch and through the rugged countryside. Admire the scenery of Rannoch Moor and the Black Mount mountain range, before arriving at Glencoe, where you'll have time to explore. Next, head to Fort William, located near Ben Nevis. After lunch, continue around the shoreline of Loch Ness and view the Medieval ruins of Urquhart Castle. The first day concludes in Inverness, where you will spend the night in a hotel.

On the second day, you can customize your itinerary. Options include visiting Culloden Battlefield, exploring Neolithic Clava Cairns, or enjoying a whisky tasting at Dalwhinnie Distillery.

After lunch, visit Ruthven Barracks and The Hermitage (summer months only), followed by a return to Edinburgh, arriving around 7:30 pm.

Luggage is restricted to one medium-sized suitcase per person.This tour returns to Edinburgh Waverley Station, a 15-minute walk from the departure point.Optional extras are not included, but there is a discounted rate for attractions: Culloden Battlefield costs 6.50 GBP per person, and Dalwhinnie Distillery is 4 GBP for one tasting, 5 GBP for two, 6 GBP for three (prices correct as of April 2019). Cash is recommended for entrance fees as some attractions do not accept credit cards.Children under 5 years old are not permitted on this tour.
