The Journey: This tour ticks off some of the top picks. You'll visit the ancient city of Kamiros, the mountain villages of Embona and Siana, and Butterfly Valley - home to hundreds of Callimorpha butterflies.

Butterfly Valley: First stop is Butterfly Valley, home to the Jersey Tiger Moth (Euplagia quadripunctaria rhodosensis), a species of moth unique to Rhodes. These moths can be seen fluttering around the valley from June to September. The trails take you through dense forest, past small streams and lead to a small waterfall. The whole walk takes about 30-40 minutes and it's a relatively easy and pleasant walk.

Ancient Kamiros: Next, step back in time at ancient Kamiros. The neatly laid out streets and the remains of the agora and acropolis will give you a sense of how the inhabitants went about their daily lives in the 5th century BC.

Embona: Next you'll have free time for lunch in Embona, the highest village on Rhodes, a mountain village famous for its wine production. Take a stroll through the village and visit local wineries to taste some of the island's finest wines.
