Uncover the rich history of the Maltese capital with a free tour of La Valletta! Discover iconic sites like St. George's Plaza.
Description
Let's meet at the Malta Parliament building to begin our free tour of Valletta. We will stroll the historic downtown streets to explore emblematic stops in this city, referred to as an "open-air museum." Be prepared with your cameras.
We will learn about how the Knights of the Order of St. John arrived in Valletta, stopping at the Auberge de Castille and d'Italie. These 16th-century facades provide insights into Malta's rich past.
As we pass through Victory Kitchen and Merchant Street, we will discuss local gastronomy and the commercial history of the area, highlighting its filming locations.
The tour includes visits to the Church of Santiago and St. John's Co-Cathedral, both constructed by the Knights. At the end of our route, we will share fun facts about the city's hidden gems, including where to find the best sweets.
After approximately 2 hours, our free tour of Valletta will conclude.
