Railway Market, Floating Market, & Ayutthaya Ruins Day Trip

On this day trip, you'll discover three of the most famous sites in Bangkok: the floating market of Damnoen Saduak, the Maeklong Railway Market, and the ruins of Ayutthaya!

Day Trip Details

At the designated time, pick-up will be at the National Stadium BTS Station in Bangkok. The first stop will be the Maeklong Railway Market, reached after a 1.5-hour journey. This open-air market offers a variety of local products, and you may witness a train crossing the market.

The tour continues to the floating market of Damnoen Saduak, where local merchants sell products from traditional boats. You will board one of these boats to shop in the traditional manner.

After some free time for lunch, the tour will proceed to the ruins of Ayutthaya. This former capital of the Kingdom of Siam, which thrived from the 14th to the 18th century, was also a vital commercial center.

You will visit the main temples, including Wat Mahathat, Wat Yai Chai Mongkon, and Wat Phra Si Sanphet. Notable sights include the Buddha head entwined in tree roots at Wat Mahathat, the large stupa of Wat Yai Chai Mongkon, and the historic temple of Wat Phra Si Sanphet, previously part of the royal palace. The guide will explain the significance of each temple and highlight the numerous Buddha statues at the site.

After exploring these sites, return to the initial meeting point in Bangkok, approximately 12 hours after pick-up.
