Description
At your chosen time, we'll meet at the entrance ramp to the Templar Castle, located next to the Church of San Andrés. Here, we'll get our private tour of Ponferrada started to explore the most fascinating places in the provincial capital of El Bierzo.
The first place we'll visit is the castle, to learn about this extraordinary fortress which belonged to the Order of the Knights Templar. We'll climb to the top of its defensive towers for views of Ponferrada and the surrounding mountains.
Next, we'll stop at the foot of the Moclín Tower and head to the iconic Casa de los Escudos. After learning its history, we'll proceed to the Virgen de la Encina Square, from which the beautiful Reloj Street starts.
On Reloj Street, we'll visit the Museum of Bierzo, housing an old 16th-century prison. We'll also observe the ancient remains of the wall of Ponferrada to learn about the town's defensive history.
After 2 hours of sightseeing, our private tour of Ponferrada will conclude as we return to the starting point.
