On this day trip to Kamakura, we'll explore the city that was the political centre of medieval Japan. We'll tour its temples, take a rickshaw ride, and even rent a kimono.

Day Trip Details

At the indicated time, we'll meet in the Suica Penguin Square and board a train to Kamakura. The first stop will be at the Buddhist temple of Hase-Dera, where we'll admire the exterior, famous for over 50,000 small sculptures. Experience calm while strolling through its caves, halls, and enjoying the view from its panoramic terrace.

Next, we will visit the Great Buddha of Kamakura, the second-largest Buddha sculpture in Japan, measuring over 42 ft (13 metres) and weighing 93 tons.

Afterwards, we'll visit the Tsurugaoka Hachiman temple-g?, the most important Shinto sanctuary in Kamakura, where you'll have 40 minutes to explore the outside and the gardens full of cherry trees.

After 5 hours of exploring, we'll return to the meeting point. You can either return with your free train ticket to Tokyo or continue to enjoy the town at your leisure.
