Start the day with a drive to Cetinje, a small museum city with beautiful monuments, promenades and nature under the huge mountain Lovćen. The driving time varies from 1 to 2 hours, depending on the place or city of departure.
On arrival to Cetinje, the former capital of Montenegro you will enjoy a one hour sighteeing tour of this small city enriched with the greenery and architecture of the 18th and 19th centuries which will surely draw your attention at first glance, through a rare combination of nature and culture, museums, art faculties, parks, promenades. Pass by the Cetinje Monastery, the Ćipuri Church, the former Njegoš’s residence – Biljarda, King Nikola’s Museum, the Presidential Palace.
Afterwards, drive towards Njeguši, the birthplace of Petar II Petrović Njegoš. The place is also known for traditional prosciutto, homemade cheese, honey and wine. Don’t miss an opportunity to taste traditional products in the most famous Montenegrin village Njeguši, from where comes Petrović dynasty, which ruled for 300 years in Montenegro.
Continue the adventure by passing along the Lovćen serpentines (80 minutes approx). Stop and take some photos on the road for which there is a story that the designer Joseph Slade has devoted this route to princess Milena, so this part of route is in the form of the initial letter of her name.
Coming to Kotor, a city and municipality on the coast of the Boka Bay in Montenegro, situated in one of the most beautiful bays. This town of merchants and sailors has a lot to show. Kotor Bay (Boka Kotorska) is one of the deepest and longest in the Adriatic Sea and is often called the southernmost fiord of Europe. The old Mediterranean archipelago, surrounded by impressive city walls, is very well preserved and included in the UNESCO list of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage. You will enjoy a city tour across the Old Town, the Square of Arms, the Cathedral of St. Triphon, the Church of St. Luke, the Maritime Museum and the Cat Square before enjoying free time to spend on your own. If you wish, you can climb the walls to the fortress of San Giovanni on your own. The total time to spare in Kotor is 2 hours, if you decide to climb on the walls you need 45 minutes to 1 hour.
The last stop is Budva, located 40 minutes by car from Kotor. Enjoy a one-hour tour of the Old Town, its beautiful churches, squares and Citadel. Stroll stroll through its winding streets and beautiful marina.
