Trollsjön Guided Hike

Description

On the day of the activity, we'll pick you up from your chosen meeting point and then head into the mountain birch forest. This environment features a forest floor covered in ferns, mosses, and woodland flowers, creating the backdrop for a 12-kilometre (7.4-mile) hike. As the guide takes us along the mountain path, we'll see various plant species and the native wildlife of the ecosystem. The path ascends past the tree line, transforming the scenery into alpine meadows and rocky outcrops as we climb higher, ascending 400 metres (1,312 feet). The journey offers stunning panoramic views.

As we enter Kärkevvage, or "Stone Valley", we'll encounter a true geological marvel filled with immense boulders deposited by ancient glaciers. The guide will share the area's geological history. We'll eventually arrive at Trollsjön, also known as Rissajaure, meaning "The lake that sparkles like fire". This lake is known for its clear waters, offering visibility revealing the depths of the 36-metre-deep (118-foot) lake. After the hike, we will have a lunch break by the lake's edge. Those who wish can take a dip in the cold water.

After 7 hours, we'll conclude this hike to Trollsjön.
