Day Trip to the Arctic Coast
At the appointed time we'll pick you up at your hotel in Akureyri and, aboard a 4x4 vehicle, we'll drive towards the Tröllaskagi peninsula. Experience the breathtaking Arctic coastline, Eyjafjörður fjord, rivers, and deep valleys as we cross the northernmost lands of Iceland.
We’ll explain how this landscape was shaped during the Ice Age while contemplating mountains and passing through villages like Ólafsfjörður and Dalvík. A stop will be made at one of the unique black sand beaches.
The Arctic coastal excursion will take us to Siglufjörður, where the TV series 'Trapped' was filmed, recognized as one of the most beautiful villages on the Tröllaskagi peninsula.
In this village, notable for its wooden houses and history linked to herring fishing, we’ll share the details of the area’s golden age.
After visiting Siglufjörður, we'll proceed to Hauganés, characterized by small houses and a sparse local population. We’ll visit a black sand bay where you can enjoy a dip in the hot tubs heated by geothermal energy.
Before returning to Akureyri, we will have lunch at a restaurant in Hauganés. After six hours of day tripping, we will end the tour and drop you off back at your hotel.
