Day Trip to the Arctic Coast
At the appointed time we'll pick you up at your hotel in Akureyri and, aboard a 4x4 vehicle, we'll drive towards the Tröllaskagi peninsula. As we cross the northernmost lands of Iceland, we'll experience the Arctic coastline, the Eyjafjörður fjord, rivers, and valleys.
We'll explain how this landscape was shaped during the Ice Age while we contemplate the mountains and pass through villages like Ólafsfjörður and Dalvík. We'll stop at a unique black sand beach.
The excursion will take us to Siglufjörður, where the TV series 'Trapped' was filmed. It's considered one of the most beautiful villages on the peninsula. You can stroll through the village known for its wooden houses and history linked to herring fishing.
After visiting Siglufjörður, we'll head to Hauganés. Here, you can enjoy a dip in the hot tubs on the beachfront, heated by geothermal energy!
Before returning to Akureyri, we'll have lunch at a restaurant in Hauganés. After six hours of day tripping, we'll drop you off back at your hotel.
