Historic Rosedale House Guided Tour
Meet us at the Historic Rosedale at the scheduled time as we set off on a guided tour through the grounds of this historic 1815 Federal-style home.
First, we'll learn the rich history behind this former private residence, owned by the same family for five generations. After a major renovation in 1993, the site opened to the public, inviting visitors to explore the house and 9 acres of gardens.
Throughout the tour, we'll discuss interesting facts about the house and the surrounding area. Together, we'll enter the 15-room estate to uncover insights into the historic Antebellum period in the United States, focusing on architectural and decorative motifs from that era and small details left behind by its inhabitants.
We will then move into the gardens area, featuring well-manicured greenery. Here, you are free to explore the grounds at your own pace, taking in the boxwood plants dating back to 1815 and rose bushes planted in the 1950s.
We'll conclude the tour 1 hour later, having fully immersed ourselves in the tranquil atmosphere at Rosedale.
