Dare to take on the sky-high walkways of the famous Caminito del Rey on this day trip from Estepona. We'll get to cross a footbridge over the impressive Gaitanes Gorge!
Caminito del Rey Excursion
Pickup will be at the selected time on Avenida Litoral in Estepona, proceeding to the Conde de Guadalhorce reservoir in the province of Málaga, home to Caminito del Rey.
After a brief history of this path, inaugurated by King Alfonso XIII in 1921, safety helmets will be provided. We will then start walking along the Caminito del Rey, where the wooden footbridge hangs nearly 330 feet (100 meters) above the Guadalhorce River.
The trail, just over 3 feet (1 meter) wide, offers magnificent panoramic views of the Gaitanes Gorge. The total route is 1.9 miles (3 km) and takes two and a half to three hours, including several stops to enjoy the scenery.
We will stop at various viewpoints for photographs of the Guadalhorce reservoir and the Málaga mountains. After completing the Caminito del Rey route, we will return to the trail's starting point, where you'll have an hour to rest and have a picnic lunch.
Finally, we will return to the meeting point in Estepona, arriving 10 hours after the start of the activity.
