- 3 horas
Souks, Koranic schools, colourful gardens... On this guided tour of Fez, we'll discover the main attractions of the cultural capital of Morocco!
Description
At the time of your choice, we'll meet at the main gate of the Lycée Moulay Idriss. From there, we'll start a guided tour of Fez that will explore the monuments hidden in the alleys of the Medina.
We'll start by discussing the Bab Bou Jeloud, or the Blue Gate, the main entrance of the Medina. We'll walk to the Al-Attarine Madrasa, a significant Koranic school, and visit the nearby Bou Inania Madrasa, known for its stucco walls, wood, and tiles with geometric motifs.
Next, we'll continue in Talaa Kebira and Talaa Seguira, important streets filled with historical monuments. We'll visit the Mausoleum of Mulay Idris, one of the most sacred places in the Medina.
Our next stop will be outside the al-Qarawiyyin Mosque, which hosts the oldest university in the world. We will explore souks and ancient squares, including the Andalusian quarter.
Finally, we will visit the oldest tannery in the city: Sidi Moussa, and proceed to Seffarine Square, home to the boilermaker craftsmen.
After 3 hours, our guided tour of Fez will conclude at R'cif Square.
