Explore the history of German immigration in Rio Grande do Sul by joining us on this day trip to Nova Petrópolis, where you'll stroll its streets and visit the main monuments!

Day Trip Details

We'll meet at the meeting point in Canela or Gramado, whichever you choose upon booking, and set off on this excursion to Nova Petrópolis.

The first immigrants arrived in Nova Petrópolis in 1858 from Pomerania, Bohemia, and Saxony. Upon arrival, we will review this history and the German immigration process by visiting Pedras do Silêncio (Sculpture Park Silent Stones). Next, we will head to Aldeia do Imigrante to learn how the Germans established themselves in the area.

Afterward, we will visit Praça das Flores, also known as Praça da República, where you can enjoy the lush vegetation. To further enjoy Nova Petrópolis's natural beauty, we will explore the Green Maze and try finding our way through the cypress trees.

The tour continues at Casa Sander, situated in an area settled by immigrants from Bohemia. Here, we will have the chance to taste delicacies produced by this family-run agribusiness, including three jellies served with crackers, toast, juice, and tea.

Next, we will visit Jardim do Moinho, a natural space where history and gastronomy coexist. We will also stop by a cosmetics store that offers products made with rosehip oil.

We will conclude the day trip to Nova Petrópolis 9 hours later, returning to the starting point.
