- 45 minutos
On this guided tour of the Tapparelli d'Azeglio Castles, we'll discover this ensemble of historic buildings on the slopes of Monte Viso.
Tour Description
At the indicated time, we'll meet at the entrance to the Tapparelli d'Azeglio Castles in Lagnasco, a complex made up of three buildings dating back to 1100. This group of fortresses, built between the end of the 11th century and the 18th century, is located at the foot of the Italian Alps. Inside, we will discover its history and the beauty of the works of art it houses. In 1560, the castle was home to the court of Emanuele Filiberto of Savoy and Marguerite de Valois.
We will explore various spaces, including the Hall of the Coats of Arms with its large collection, and the loggetta delle magiche grottesche, featuring frescoes by Pietro Dolce that depict imaginary and monstrous creatures.
We will note the architectural and artistic development of the castles over time while admiring the frescoes and plastic works of 17th-century Piedmontese Mannerism.
At the end of the visit, which will last 45 minutes, we'll say our goodbyes outside the Tapparelli d'Azeglio Castle complex.
