Day Trip to Guatape + La Manuela Estate
- 7 - 8 horas
Want to visit one of the most beautiful villages in Colombia? On this day trip from Medellín, we'll go to Guatapé on a typical chiva bus. We'll also take a boat to La Manuela, a famous estate owned by the notorious drug lord Pablo Escobar.
Day Trip Details
We will meet at Street 9, number 42 – 27, next to El Poblado Park, and from there, we'll head east on a traditional chiva bus.
During the trip, we will enjoy a tasting of three traditional Colombian products. Our first stop will be the Alto del Chocho Farm, where we'll learn about animals such as alpacas, llamas, pigs, and horses.
Next, we'll arrive in Guatapé. Our first visit is to Piedra del Peñol, where you can climb 740 stairs for views of the Peñol-Guatapé Reservoir.
We will then explore Guatapé's historical centre, known for its colourful streets and since one area is covered by umbrellas, it has become a popular spot for photos.
After our village visit, we'll enjoy a full Paisa lunch at a restaurant on the pier. Following lunch, we'll take a boat across the Guatpé Reservoir to La Manuela estate, previously owned by Pablo Escobar.
At the estate, we'll have a guided tour and then 1 hour of free time for optional activities, such as paintballing, renting a jet ski, or an ATV.
We will then return by boat to Guatapé, where the chiva will take us back to Medellín, ending the trip after 7-8 hours.
