Melfi, Venosa y Lagopesole Private Tour
On this private tour, we will explore the archaeological sites of Basilicata and the Vulture region, starting at the Castle of Melfi. From there, you will follow the guide in your own vehicle to visit key sites in the area.
We will begin in Venosa, where we will visit the archaeological museum, home to remains from the ancient Roman colony of Venusia, founded in 291 B.C. You will walk through the ancient streets, viewing the baths and a domus with mosaics, all set against the backdrop of the abbey of the Holy Trinity.
Next, we will return to Melfi to discover its heritage. The tour includes the Santa Maria Assunta Cathedral and the castle of Frederick II, which houses the National Archaeological Museum of Melfese, featuring finds from the Archaic, Classical, and Roman periods.
There will be a break for you to have a meal at your leisure. The final stop will be in Lagopesole, where we will learn about its historical connections to Frederick II and Manfredi and visit the village's castle.
The tour concludes at the starting point in Melfi between eight and nine hours after it begins.
