Why Visit Mycenae?
Located on the Peloponnese peninsula, Mycenae is one of Europe’s significant archaeological sites. It was the center of the legendary kingdom of Agamemnon during the Mycenaean period (1600 to 1200 BC).
This ticket allows access to scenes from Homer's Iliad and Odyssey. Visit the Lion Gate, a 3-meter (9.8 feet) high entrance featuring two lions. You'll also explore the ruins of the royal Palace of Agamemnon and the Treasury of Atreus, known as the Tomb of Agamemnon, characterized by its "Tholos" shape. Mycenae is protected by a massive wall, thought to be erected by the Cyclops.
