At the indicated time, visit the Château du Haut-Koenigsbourg, a medieval fortress with a rich history. Built by the Hohenstaufen family in the 12th century, it has undergone multiple ownership changes, including the Habsburgs in the 15th century. After its abandonment following the Thirty Years' War, the Château was restored in 1900 by Wilhelm II of Germany, led by expert Bodo Ebhardt. It now serves as a historical monument visited by over half a million people annually.

Château du Haut-Koenigsbourg Opening Hours

The opening times are as follows:

January, February and March: 9:30 am to 12 pm, 1 pm to 5 pmApril, May, June, September, October, November, December: 9:30 am to 6 pmJuly and August: 9 am to 7 pm

Final admission is one hour before closing. The castle is closed on January 1st and December 25th and 26th.

Admission is free on the first Sunday of each month from November to March and during European Heritage Days.
