Bangkok Grand Palace Guided Tour Itinerary

The Grand Palace is Bangkok's most important monument, built in the late 18th century as a royal residence. The buildings, temples, gardens, and courtyards of the palace complex continue to host ceremonies and state functions.

On the day of your tour, you will be picked up from your hotel in central Bangkok and taken to the Grand Palace. The tour will highlight the architecture of the complex, including the intricately carved scenes of the gold-lacquered multi-tiered roofs of the Phra Thinang, or "Throne Halls."

The palace is home to several temples, notably Wat Phra Kaew, or the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, which houses the sacred jade Buddha statue. This 26-inch-tall statue is a revered national symbol, resting on an extravagant pedestal.

Your tour will include visits to the Coronation Throne Hall, Royal Reception Hall, Royal Funeral Hall, Golden Chedi, and the Royal Pantheon. At the conclusion of your tour, you will be returned to your hotel in Bangkok.

Dress Code

There is a strict dress code for entering the Grand Palace:

Long trousers or skirt (ankle length); long sleeved shirt; and covered shoes are required.

Visitors will not be permitted to enter if wearing:

Shorts, mini skirts, culottes, tights, tight or ripped trousers, sleeveless or rolled-up shirts, see-through clothes, sleepwear or bare shoulders, sportswear, sandals.

Wearing socks is recommended as shoes must be removed to visit the Buddha statues.

This tour includes pickup and drop-off at hotels in specific areas of Bangkok city centre, including:

Asoke; Sukhumvit; Chidlom; Chinatown; Pathumwan; Phayathai; Ploenchit; Pomprab; Pratunam; Petchburi Road (from number 1 to Avani Atrium); Phranakorn; Silom; Sathorn; Siam Square; Sukhumvit Road Soi 1-33 and Soi 2-24.

For the morning tour, pickup will be between 7 am and 8 am; for the afternoon tour, it will be from 11:10 am to 12:30 pm. The local tour provider will contact you directly to confirm the exact pickup time and location if your accommodation is not listed.
