Bangkok Grand Palace Guided Tour Itinerary

The magnificent Grand Palace is Bangkok's most important monument, built in the late 18th century as a royal residence. The palace complex features buildings, temples, gardens, and courtyards still used for ceremonies and state functions. On the tour day, hotel pickup will be provided, leading to the Grand Palace where participants will explore its architecture and the surrounding myths and legends. Key highlights include the intricately carved multi-tiered roofs of the Phra Thinang or "Throne Halls" and numerous temples, notably Wat Phra Kaew or the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, home to the revered jade Buddha statue. The guided tour will also cover other significant buildings such as the Coronation Throne Hall and the Royal Pantheon. After the tour, participants will be dropped off at their hotel in Bangkok.

Dress Code

There is a strict dress code for entering the Grand Palace:

Long trousers or skirt (ankle length); long-sleeved shirt; covered shoes.

Visitors will not be permitted to enter if wearing the following:

Shorts, mini skirts, culottes, tights, tight or ripped trousers, sleeveless or rolled-up shirts, see-through clothes, sleepwear, sportswear, sandals.

Socks are recommended as shoes must be removed to visit the Buddha statues.

Hotel Pickup

This tour includes a pickup and drop-off service at hotels in central Bangkok areas such as Asoke, Sukhumvit, Chinatown, and Siam Square. Morning tour pickup is between 7 am and 8 am; afternoon tour pickup is from 11:10 am to 12:30 pm. The local tour provider will confirm the exact pickup time and location if the accommodation is not listed.
