Tour Details
Welcome to the capital of China! At the designated time, we'll meet at Exit D of the Hugangquaio Metro Station to begin this free tour that will take us to the most important spots in Beijing.
Throughout our tour, we'll reveal how the city transitioned from an old walled capital to becoming the country's political centre and a major cultural landmark.
We will first visit one of the oldest theatres to discuss the Beijing Opera, an intangible cultural heritage.
Next, we'll explore the hutongs, the narrow streets typical of northern China. We'll delve into the Mongol legacy and visit a significant cultural patio.
Following this, we will stop at the Hutong Market for free time to try local delicacies. After a short break, we'll proceed down Yangmei Old Street to visit its artisanal shops and learn about Beijing's urban layout.
We’ll walk down Dashilar Street to discuss the history of Chinese merchants and continue to the narrowest hutong in the city before reaching Qianmen Street.
Nearby is Beijing's Central Axis, a World Heritage Site connecting major monuments, showing the city's evolution.
Lastly, we’ll visit the outside of the Zhengyangmen Gate's Archery Tower, close to Tiananmen Square, marking the end of our 3.5-hour tour.
