Pisciotta Guided Tour
At the scheduled time, we'll meet on Via Borgo to begin a guided tour of Pisciotta. Ready to explore a medieval village?
From Piazza Pinto, we will walk into the historic center and reach the Palazzo Marchesale, birthplace of the bishop Luigi Pappacoda, a promoter of the Leccese Baroque style in the 17th century.
Next, we will visit two noble chapels and Pisciotta's Chiesa Madre, a 16th-century temple with important relics and frescoes from the 18th century. Our guide will discuss the Cilento uprisings of 1840 and their influence on the town’s history.
In the final stretch of the tour, we will stop at a local craft workshop, where the owner will explain her work, and we will participate in a small tasting of local products.
Finally, we will have some free time for shopping before this one-and-a-half-hour walking tour concludes.
