Pisciotta Guided Tour
At the scheduled time, we'll meet on Via Borgo to begin a guided tour of Pisciotta. Ready to explore a medieval village?
From Piazza Pinto, we'll walk into the historic center of this Salerno town, until we reach the Palazzo Marchesale, birthplace of the famous bishop Luigi Pappacoda, known for promoting the Leccese Baroque style in the second half of the 17th century.
Next, we'll visit two noble chapels and Pisciotta's Chiesa Madre, which dates back to the 16th century and houses significant relics and frescoes from the 18th century. Our guide will share insights on the Cilento uprisings of 1840 related to the town of Pisciotta, exploring the factual and legendary elements of these events.
In the last stretch of the tour, we'll stop at a local craft workshop where the owner will explain her work, and we'll participate in a small tasting of local products.
Finally, we'll have some free time for shopping, concluding this hour-and-a-half walking tour.
