South Montenegro Private Tour: Bar, Ulcinj and Ada Bojana

Start the day with the drive to the Bar (from 1 to 3 hours depending on the place or city of departure).

Bar is a maritime city in Montenegro located in the south of the country, between the Adriatic Sea and the Skadar Lake. It is a city with a large number of cultural events during the summer period, such as concerts, exhibitions, books promotions, children’s festivals, sports tournaments, etc. Harbor Bar is the largest Montenegrin port.

Visit the St. Jovan Vladimir temple and enter the temple. An easy walk along the beautiful promenade near the sea. Drive to Old Bar (5 km from the sea). Arrive at Old Bar, the oldest inhabited place in Montenegro. Visit, after which we recommend that you spend your time in a walk or enjoying the taverns whose interior speaks about life in this area (the estimated time is 2 hours for City Center and Old Bar). Old Bar is one of the most important archaeological sites in the world. Its streets are cross-country guides, from Greek colonies to the Middle Ages, the rule of Venetians to the Turkish period, and up to the new era.

At the exit from Bar, on the way to Ulcinj, we will make a 20-minute stop to visit the Old Olive tree, which is part of the visual and spiritual identity of Bar because of the tradition that arguments were reconciled under it. The tree is the oldest in Europe, and also one of the oldest trees in the world.

Continue with a 30 minutes drive to Ulcinj, a city that represents a combination of Oriental and Western civilization. You will see the Old Town, the Balšića Tower, the Slave Market, and the palaces from the Venetian period. You will hear a story or legend that the famous Spanish writer Miguel de Cervantes was one of the imprisoned pirate captives and slaves in Ulcinj. Cervantes spent 5 years in Ulcinj, and after his return to Spain, he wrote his famous novel “Don Quixote”.

Free time for coffee or shopping and then continuing to the Great beach - Ada Bojana beach – situated only a few km away from the city, covered with beautiful fine sand. An ideal place for surfing and enjoying one of the traditional fishing restaurants (scheduled for Center and beach 2 hours).
