Puerto Plata & Taino Valley Tour

The Taino Valley tour provides an opportunity to explore the Dominican Republic’s indigenous nature and culture along with a guided tour of Puerto Plata covering its history and landmarks.

Tour Details

The adventure starts with a pickup at the Puerto Plata cruise port or your hotel. Participants will travel to Taino Valley Tropical Park, an ecological reserve known for its lush vegetation and trails. Visitors will encounter statues of ancient Taino gods and learn about their significance.

Next, the group will reach the Taino Valley viewpoint for panoramic views of the valley before visiting fruit plantations to taste fresh fruits. The tour continues along the Dominican coffee route, detailing the coffee production process, followed by tasting freshly brewed coffee. Additionally, participants will learn about Dominican tobacco and the cigar making process.

Lunch will be served at the Casa Colonial, followed by a visit to Puerto Plata, including the San Felipe Fortress, the Amber Museum, Independence Square, Cathedral, Rose Street, and the street of umbrellas before concluding the day with a drop-off after approximately 7 hours.
