Ravenna Private Tour
At a time of your choosing, meet outside the Basilica of St. Apollinaris to start a walking tour of the main monuments of Ravenna. The tour includes up to eight World Heritage recognized buildings.
You will enter the temple of St. Apolinar, built in 505 by King Theodoric the Great. While admiring the mosaics, you will learn about Ravenna's history involving Romans, Byzantines, and Visigoths.
Next, visit the 'Dantesque area', housing the remains of the Italian poet Dante Alighieri. You will see the façade of the neoclassical building and proceed to the Neonian baptistery to view the mosaic of Saint John the Baptist baptizing Jesus, known for its blue and gold tones.
Continue to Piazza del Popolo square, see Palazzo Rasponi square, and visit the Basilica of San Vital, established in the 6th century, featuring exceptional Byzantine art mosaics. The mausoleum of Gala Placidia is also located there.
After a two-hour private tour, the activity concludes outside the mausoleum or at a central location of your choice.
