Sabbioneta Private Tour

At your selected time, we will meet at Piazza D'Armi to begin a private tour of Sabbioneta, exploring its main monuments and attractions.

We will start by discussing the origins of Sabbioneta, recognized as a World Heritage City. Your guide will explain why Vespasiano I Gonzaga chose this location for a new city, reflecting Renaissance urban and architectural ideals. You will also learn about the connection between this duchy and Spain.

Following the defensive walls, the tour includes visits to several key sites, including the Church of Santa Maria Assunta and the Imperial Gate.

You will also see the Palazzo del Giardino, the Duke of Gonzaga's residence with its art collection, and visit the Galleria degli Antichi, the Ducal Palace, the Church of Beata Vergine Incoronata, and the Synagogue.

We will conclude with a visit to the renowned Teatro all'Antica, historically utilized as a barracks and cinema, featuring impressive sculptures of the gods of Olympus symbolizing power.
