Grottes de Betharram: Journey to the Centre of the Earth
This exciting tour takes place at the Grottes de Betharram, located between Pau and Lourdes, marking the border between the Pyrénées Atlantiques and the Hautes Pyrénées.
Upon arrival at the Grottes de Betharram, a short drive from Lourdes, we will be guided through an underground world formed by water erosion over thousands of years, creating limestone formations like stalactites and stalagmites. We will explore various rock shapes and formations, particularly at the upper level of the caves. A descent will lead us to a subterranean river, where we will take a boat tour along the tranquil waterway. Afterwards, we will board a charming train that returns us to the main entrance.
This guided tour lasts for 1 hour and 20 minutes.
