2-Day or 3-Day Tour of the Ecuadorian Andes

Are you in Quito and interested in exploring the Ecuadorian Andes? On this 2-day or 3-day tour, you'll discover the active volcanos, colorful lagoons, and charming Andean towns!

2-Day Tour

Day 1: Cotopaxi

We will pick you up from your hotel in Quito and head to the Andes. After breakfast, we will visit the Cotopaxi National Park, located 62.1 miles (100 kilometers) from Quito. We will stop at the Mariscal Sucre Interpretation Center and the Laguna de Limpiopungo to observe native birds. A hike to the Refugio José Rivas will follow, where you will enjoy views after a 1.5-hour hike. We will have lunch at a hacienda and then check into a hotel in Cotopaxi for the rest of the afternoon free.

Day 2: Quilotoa

After breakfast, we will visit Julián's home to learn about guinea pig breeding and local agriculture. We will explore the town of Tigua and an art gallery. At the Ilinizas Ecological Reserve, you will choose trails to reach Quilotoa Lake. You will have time for lunch before returning to Quito, concluding around 7 pm.

3-Day Tour

The 3-day tour follows the same itinerary for the first day, and on the second day, we will go to Baños de Agua Santa after lunch. You will stay in a hotel in Baños, where you can explore local cuisine and thermal pools.

On the third day, we will hike to Mindo waterfalls via La Ruta de las Cascadas, taking a tarabita over the Pastaza River. We will visit the Pailón del Diablo Waterfall and the Casa del Árbol for the Swing at the End of the World. The day concludes in Quito around 9 pm.

One-Night Accommodation

This tour includes a one-night stay at accommodation in Cotopaxi (3-star hotels), with a 2-star hotel included for the 3-day option in Baños.

Tour Schedule

The first tour begins at 7 am, returning at 7 pm for the 2-day tour, or at 9 pm for the 3-day tour.

Pickup and Drop-off

Pickup and drop-off are available for those staying within a 0.5-mile (0.80-kilometer) radius of La Carolina, Plaza Foca, and Plaza Grande. Alternative meeting points will be arranged for hotels outside this area.
