Discover the colonial-style monuments of Java island on this private tour of Semarang. You'll encounter elegant churches, temples, and the rainbow village.
Tour Details
At 8 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Semarang and start exploring the historic city center. You'll discover colonial-style architecture, with a stop at the church of Blenduk, where Protestants and Catholics shared an altar.
Next, we will visit Lawang Sewu, known as "the building of a thousand doors," built in 1917 for the Dutch railway company. During World War II, it served as a prison and is considered the most haunted place in Indonesia.
You will have 1 hour free to eat on your own (not included) before we meet to visit the Chinese temple Sam Poo Kong, where we will stroll through its gardens and admire its red roofs.
Afterward, we'll take a 15-minute drive to Kampung Pelangi, where residents painted the houses in bright colors to overcome the area's reputation, hence it's known as the "rainbow village."
Finally, we will conclude our adventure between 6 pm and 8 pm at your chosen finish point.
End Point
When making the reservation, you must choose if you prefer to finish the tour at your hotel in Yogyakarta, back at your hotel in Semarang, or at Semarang airport.
